Privacy

This site stores as little as it can and says exactly what that is.

The newsletter

When you subscribe to The System Layer I store your email address, the time you ticked the consent box, and which form on this site you used. Nothing else about you.

I store it so I can send you the newsletter and prove you asked for it. It lives in a Supabase database in the EU, in Frankfurt.

Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click and no more email arrives. To have your address deleted entirely, write to tadej@tadejbokan.com and I remove it.

The contact form

When you write to me through the work page I store your name, email address, the topic you picked and your message, so I can reply. Nothing else. The row sits in the same database in Frankfurt, and a copy reaches my inbox as an email sent through Resend, my email provider.

I keep it for twelve months and then delete it, unless we end up working together. To have it deleted sooner, write to tadej@tadejbokan.com.

Cookies and analytics

I count page views, form steps and clicks on my YouTube, LinkedIn and Skill Builder links with PostHog, hosted in the EU. The analytics set no cookies, store nothing in your browser, and use no identifier that outlives the page you are on. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, no analytics are sent at all. One thing the site does keep in your browser: when a form fails to send, what you typed stays in this browser, in local storage, so you do not have to type it again, and it is cleared once the send succeeds. Vercel, which hosts this site, checks that a visitor is a browser and not a bot, and may keep a security token in your browser for an hour to remember that check. It identifies the check, not you.
